The early 1960s, a time of escalating confrontation between the Soviet Union and the United States. In the most difficult weather conditions and with on-board malfunctions, the first Soviet nuclear submarine, K-3, sets out on a journey under the ice of the Arctic Ocean to surface precisely at the North Pole.
